Default 10% to make a offer?

The Joys of brokerage boats... they want 10% of asking price to pass along a offer on a boat... does anyone ever do this?.. On several hundred thousand dollars that a lot of coin just to ask a question... then try to get it back if they say no...

What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Jeff

LOL, maybe 10%, refundable (in writing) for a test drive, but not to make an offer. Who are you dealing with? Find that 39 yet?

tell em to fk off on the 10% to present an offer and present the offer with a time line set to your likings to respnd by, or you will look up the owner direct by the reg numbers.

just send Ozzie and his crew to the brokerage. Ozzie will hit him in the head with a meatball sandwhich and get the offer made for free

I wouldn't pay a dime until the boat was sold, signed, sealed and delivered....

They should be paying YOU 10% for the test drive.

I have no clue but would think they would take 10% of the actual sales price.

Or are you saying your boat is for sale and a broker called you up saying they have a client but want the brokers fee if that person buys it? The buyer is the one using the broker- make them pay it, not you.

Or are you saying you have to pay 10% just to find out- like an antie? If that is the case tell them thanks but no thanks.
they want 10% of my offer to present the offer to owner. in escrow account... I can kinda understand with all the low ball offer they receve..
