I had an unlimited supply of Mercury props when I owned my 1997 38' Baja. I tried the 22, 24, & 26" Bravo 4 blades. The boat hated all three. Blow out, ride levelness, - all were off. I think the 4 blades lifted the rear too much. I then tried several sizes of the Mirage 3 blades. I had 502 MPI's and the 21 was not enough and the 23 was too much for large loads. I had the 23's bent to 22 and was perfect. Try and find someone with 4 blades on a 38 Baja and see if they are working ok. I didn't try other mfgs. (Hydromotive, Herring, etc.).

I've got a buddy with 26 Bravo I's on a 1993 that we repowered with 500 EFI's. I'd call Breet at Blades and talk to him, he will get you set up.

I ran revoluton 4's on my 38 repowered with 496's and they offered the best overall performance.
