Default Ever put a BBC in an H1?

I know these things came with whipled small blocks, but anyone ever put a Big Block under the hood? will it fit under the hood with all the radiators and accesories etc that are under there. I wonder if the turbo would bolt up also?

My Dad worked for Scoottsdale Hummer back in the mid 90's. They did a lot of conversions to BBCs. Mostly 502 crate engines. They also did several Whipple installs on the 6.5's & ditched the turbo charger setup, if my memory serves me correctly. I was in "high" school during that time.

We've done a few 496- 8.1L high horsepower motors in some H2's where its easy because the LS type ECM will run the 8.1L (same firing order and Ecm sensors. Needless to say the bigger power and huge torque made these boys real Monsters! As for the Hi , weren't most of these diesel 6.2L when sold and hence the conversion would be afully techy and cost prohibitive.

I'm sure it wouldn't be easy, but you never know until you try.

There were a lot of them made with small block 350's and whipple kits installed on top.

I don't even have an H1. I was just making conversation if one ever came up.
