Default Procharger ???

I came across a problem with the throttle body inlet on my 502 MPI. Air has been leaking in from the sides and I'm wondering if I have the wrong piece for my particular TB? As you can see from the pics below, the total width of the outer flange on the inlet is 5.7" which is about .004 wider than the venturi on the TB. That barely leaves anything to seal. The inside measures 4.68". Has anyone ran across this? Procharger's website doesn't have a thing as far as piece parts so I'm at a loss. I thought about calling them, but didn't want to talk to Charlie Brown's teacher who is more than likely the one to answer the phone.

If you're not in a hurry, I am ordering one from them tomorrow. I am swapping a m1-sc from a 7.4 mpi to a 454 MAG mpi and the TB adaptor and "u" tube are the only thing missing. I can ask about it when I order it.

Seems the TB adaptor Procharger sells today for the 502 MPI measures different than the one I depict above. The measurements the tech guy gave me appear to be just the difference I'm missing. We'll see when it gets here!

Steve, did you order yours this morning? The tech guy said he sold one about an hr before I called.

Steve,

I received my part today and it's the exact same as the one I already had. You might want to measure the areas I've described and see if yours is the same.

Wow! not exactly precision casing is it? My bolt holes barely line up!

I am getting an inside diameter of 4.695 on my adaptor, and a total inside width (end of radius to end of radius) 4.625 on my throttle body, which makes the adaptor about .035 smaller than the throttle body inside.

I am getting a outside dimension of 6.090 on the adaptor and 6.150 on the throttle body. Just by eyeballing it, I'm thinking I'm getting about .150 to .200 seal per side. The funny thing is I have no gasket, I guess I will have to make one.

After looking mine over a bit more, I'm going to run it. I'm not so concerned with the inside diameter as I am with the surface area available for sealing. This new one has about
.250 more on each side so I'm going to run it. The difference on the inside is going to be negligible and I'm not going to cry over 3-5hp.

Yes, no gasket. Just go get some gasket material and make your own. You'll never know the difference.
