Default Compression Ratio

I was told by my machinist that the compression ratio on my engine should be right around 9:1. Since I did all of the final assembly on the engine I would like to find a way to test this ratio. Is there a way to check this information with a compression test or other method prior to running the engine?

Thanks in advance

Check the sheet that came with the pistons you have. It is also going to depend on the heads, cam and thickness of your head gaskets.
