Usually my Motion does not like smooth water. It tends to run a little slower than normal and proposes a little more. Mine ran the best in a 1 to 2 foot chop.

You might want to measure your X dimension and see where you are at. It the motors are too low in the water that will also slow you down.

Hope this helps

Most Cat's used as pleasure boats turn the props out becasue it gives the boat better handling. Turning them in willl give you an extra 1 or 2 Mph but is a little more of a handful. My 2002 Motion with 300x's had the props turning in. My 2003 Motion with 2.5's has them turning out.

The X dimension should be 1.5 to 1.75 above the running surface.

What props do you have on the boat? How much fuel were you carring? How many people were with you?

Thats 11% slip.. I'm not sure whats a normal slip ratio on a cat. I know I have mine down to 9% now and I'm not sure if I can do better.
