Not Scarab related but I figure if your a Wellcraft owner you know a good brand of boat. My parents are interested in a 1978 25' Nova with T-260 Hp sbc. Boot looks good in pictures, and in talking to ther guy, the previous owner and him took care if it. What problem area should I check into on this type of boat. It does not have hourmeters on it, so I can not check the hours, ( but most average guys say the hour meters are broken)

30 year old boat. Was it ever re-rigged? I'd be very afraid of everything. Stringers , transom , bulkheads , wood under upholstry is probably rotten and like a sponge , mechanical . The price would have to be right , like free !!! Sorry but been there and done that.

Pretty much what was just mentioned. Wellcraft built a good boat, but wear & tear over time can still take its toll. If unsure as what to look for have it surveyed. it can save you a lot of money if you are not looking for a resto project.. Jamie
