Default Fuel Regulator Vacuum unplugged ?

ok My boat has been having problems at idle when i put it into gear forward or reverse it wants to die out and once i give it more throttle its fine and today when i was cleaning my boat i noticed my vacuum line from my fuel regulator was unplugged could that cause the hesitation im having ? Other than that my boat runs great

I'm no expert but I think that would cause the problem you are having. A vacume referenced regulator adjust the fuel presure down at high vacume(no load, idle) and up at low vacume(high load). If your hose is disconnected, the regulator see no vacume and thinks you are under high load so it ups the fuel pressure. If it does this while you are idling you will be too rich and it wont idle correctly. Just me .02. Hope it helps.
