Guys - I can get 106 an 109 cam 2 race gas here. I have been mixing that out of cans in with the 89 I get at the pump on the water. I have had no issues so far but was told by one person that it is a leaded gas and may not be good to run. It could cause build up on the valves and lifters ? Do that sound right ? I know the race cars runs this stuff I can image they would if it was that bad. Any input

I used to do the same thing with my ProCharged Eliminator, always ran strong,and never had any issues.

I khow its not a problem in 2 strokes, as far as 4 strokes go...have you seen the buildup from everyday pump gas?? I would think it would actually burn cleaner and leave less deposits because of better formulation.

Interesting, when they got rid of leaded gas a lot of engines had problems with valves/seats etc because the lead kept them lubricated.....

As far as lifters... I don't buy that....that's an internal engine part....

My dad has been mixing 106 and 91 for years with out an issue. What octane rating are you looking to get?

I use a mixture of 100 (unleaded blue in color) with 91 regular unleaded.

The only downside to tetraethyl lead is to the environment. Your motor will love it. Be careful not to over-octane as you can lose power instead of gaining it.

Trying to get to 93 or 94 rating. The Motor is fuel injuected Tyler crocket 496 so if does compensate for lower octane but it runs like trash and just dumps the low octane stuff thew it. I think 109 is the way to go just for thfack I have to drag less of it down in cans ( I keep it on the water so by trailer is not much of an option for me)
