Blue Impellers?
#1
I am getting ready to replace the sea water impellers on my friends boat. I heard about these BLUE impellers from Globe Co. in Boston, They claim you can run them dry for 15 mins. Anyone use em or even hear of such a beast?

In absence of any other replies you may want to search the archives on that topic. Seems there was an issue with water pressure or increased operating temps. Unless the boat is catching a lot of air or he has reasons to run it dry stick with the Merc impeller and change it yearly.

Check over at www.boatingstuff.com and search there-there were some threads on those impellers that were quite extensive.

I've had real good luck with them on my Alphas- don't know about the engine driven pumps for the Bravos (might try 'em on the new boat).
Some of the problems that people had with them came from impeller change only- you must change the liner as well (get a kit).
Boatfix.com has the best price on them.
