Make sure you run good coolers and 600 HP should be no problem. Same with your drives as long as you keep the grease changed regularly and keep the props in the water. No hole shots or both will self destruct especially if your running 4blades.

I've puked three stock ones in one season with 630hp 540's, TRS's, Chris Scorpion 39'. Had Huber build two 1200's, no problems at all in three seasons. Did not do any major jumping, hole shots, etc. Put in the extra clutches ASAP, not worth the headaches.
