hello everyone, i have a strange problem. i have a 79 sleekcraft ambassador 26 with a stock 454/TRS. it will run fine with no slip throughout its range.. runs fine in chop with no slip.
if i am running wide open and hit a wake on a large angle, the boat will loose its bite and NEVER get it back. the bow drops, and torque steer goes away etc. i can slow down and try to get back in the throttle and its still there.
the ONLY way to get it to stop doing this is to come off plane completely and restart. then its good until the next wave that hits it just right.
any ideas?
thanks
Ray

well its good to see that you guys have seen this. i was hoping it wasnt a hull or drive thing...alignment or whatnot.
so i guess i have to track down a mirage plus to try. its a shame because im propped just right at this time besides this issue.
thanks for the help!

If you are propped just right, now. Then when you swap to a Mirage+ go down one size. You will lose 200rpm if you stay the same size.
Another option would be to have yours reworked to add some cup but not lose any RPMs. A good prop shop will be able to do that. but, this time of year I'll bet you have a month wait.

Tell the prop shop,( I would use B Blades or Throttle Up, OSO advertisers) what it is doing and what you would like. They will know how much cup and where.
