Am looking to purchase a baja outlaw 29 with just about every option in it..
I like the SST package, but hate the graphics for SST on the outside of the boat. (love everything SST adds to the inside)
Looking to purchase with Twin 500EFI's.
496 HO just doesn't look as nice and feels underpowered.
At 2 boat shows i went to recently, baja dealers were throwing 29 outlaws with everything in it under the sun and T496HO's for 95k brand new. 5/5year warranty's etc..
Now the 500 EFI cannot be that much more money..
(Want to buy now, need to buy now =)
This posting is obviously for any dealers who may be out there or for anyone else who can get me to change my mind.
Are there alot of problems with the baja's also? I don't want a boat thats poorly made. There not exactly inexpensive to purchase ya know.
Also, i happen to feel the baja makes the best looking cockpits/outside looking boat in a 29 footer.
Sunsation is a great boat but she's so boxy and plain.
Donzi is too heavy, cigarette is nice but I'm not so sure about there sizes.
Email = [email protected]
Name = Marcello Becerra
thanks

I know where you can get a 1999 302 with T500EFI around that price. $99,999 just dropped from $119,000. 70 hours. I've been in it. I didn't see anything wrong with it. It's been on their lot over a year.

I think you are going to be hard pressed to find a 29 Outlaw with them. I also think the price difference is lots more than you think. I would say throw another $25k on the price (retail). Especially if you're buying new.

1. The price difference between a 496HO and an HP500EFI is about $12,500 per motor. That would equal $25,000 extra in a twin setup.
2. The price you quote of $95,000; what does that include? For a 29 Outlaw you want a triple axle aluminum trailer with quad brakes. That will run you about $6,000.
3. Depending on where you live, taxes will be another $5000.
4. Documentation will be another $500.
I own a 29 Outlaw with HO’s. Towards the end of last season I had an opportunity to run some old, ragged out 27” 3 blade Mirage props on my boat and saw about 77mph
@4900rpm. This year I am having Bronson Hill set me up with some nice lab finished 28” 4 blades. With those props, I am hoping to see 78-79mph.
Every boat reaches a point of diminishing returns where an increase in horsepower and the subsequent increase in speed becomes very non-linear. I believe that point on a 29 Outlaw is around 80mph. Everyone I have talked to regarding a 29 Outlaw with HP’s says the top speed they have seen is about 80mph. If I can achieve 78-79mph with my HO’s and you can achieve 80mph with your HP’s for an extra $25,000, is it worth it? I think not.
