Default offshore boat insurance, what a rip! What do you guys do?

I just got my quote from Progressive for this year and its really gone up, the fuc*ed thing is that the boat never hit the water last year at all (I was repowering)!
Progressive is high with full coverage so I called
BoatUS and for just liability it was almost the same as progressive, go figure.

My boats a 1988 scarab and I want to know who to call to get this number back to reality. Health insurance is one thing, but add on car, jet ski, motorcycle and boat, its quite a big number, man if I had kids, I'd be in a canoe!
help!!!

I'm at $950 a year for complete coverage through State Farm. Also have house with them. I've got stock 502's.

Did you increase your power?

Yes I went from 454 to 502 or 330hp to 450 hp, but the boat has not hit the water with the new power so I will have a big surprise this spring!

96Vyper, Im with scarab3dmc, I use state farm for home, auto, snowmobile, jet ski's, zodiac, but they wont insure my 32 advantage w 502 mags. I use allstate, My uncle has a marina and tells me they are the best to deal with, if ever I need to make a claim, but $1500 p/year
