Default Who has the Fastest 27 Baja out there??

I have a customer who is wanting to build up a 278 Performance, he wants at least 80mph we have never built one that fast and was wanting to get an idea of who has??

I am thinking at least 600hp, but would really like to hear from anyone who has put some HP behind a 27 Performance

Thanks

WILL

How big is an H2X?

One ran 109 at the shootout a couple years ago.

600 should get you there,,,,, but check the bottom to make sure its straight,,,, the old style hit a wall because of the hook,,,, never straight edged a 278

Articfriends on here probably has the fastest,
he's pushing 100 and has big power.

He'll probably chime in.

Smitty Artic Friends on the board is the man to field this question. His 27 is sick and right at the century mark!

That 600SCI will only get you upper 70's to low 80's

Artic Friends/ AKA the other Smitty has about 1000 blown hp in his rig and he is right at 98 mph consistently. And he has his motor dialed in.

Smitty is definitely the man on a '27. I don't think you want to spend the time and effort involved that he did though. 80 should be no problem. I don't know what my HP is but I ran 86 gps last year. I'm still trying to get dialed in for this year( rebuild and computer upgrade). Counting the boat and three engines I still have under $52k over 7 years of ownership (spent $8000 this year!) in mine. I'll probably go slower too!

That sounds right. I'm not familiar with the 27 specifically, but if the bottom and overall weight is similar to the 26OL, then Smitty is dead on. If you want to over deliver, it will take more than a 600sci.
