Default How about the "ultimate engine" to go with the "ultimate boat"

This kind of goes along with the "ultimate boat" thread.

Think about this , Formula one race cars have 1.5 or 1.8 liter naturally aspirated engines and I believe they make close to 900hp.
Now using thier technology on a big block it should make some SERIOUS power.

How about this: 600-700 cubic inch aluminum block, titanium rods, Some sort of trick crank (knife edged throws..etc) , ceramic coated pistons.

Big chief heads or maybe some custom 4 valve heads

Sheet metal intake with computer adjusted runners.

No valve train, or camshaft. Electrically actuated
valves.
Digitally fuel injected.
Everything controlled by computer, timing , valve lift , cam timing, fuel delivery , fuel pressure .
Drive by wire throttle control.
Basically a 700 cubic inch F1 motor.
I will take two and install them in my 47' custom built carbon fiber/kevlar plush interiored Apache.

Okay I'm bored at work and just day dreaming !

OK now I'm thinking......

We'll put in variable butterflies in the intake runners and the exhaust system controlled by the computer to change flow velocity at different speeds.

We will also have multiple computer controlled thermostat valves in the engine to precisely regulate temps-sensors at each cylinder and 4 in the oil pan area.

Spark will be provided by 4 different plugs at different points in the combustion chamber-each with it's own coil controlled by the computer.

No liners in the block-it will be silicone-impregnated aluminum like in a BMW.

Yeah, that'll work.
