Liner Boat??

Baja's DO have stringers, the "liner" boat means the top half of the deck has the inner parts of the boat (the fiberglass that lines the cockpit) molded as one piece. It s a mass production thing to save time and make all the boats un-form. They also put the motor in before putting the top half of the boat on,it lessens the chance of damage and makes the rigging easier. The drawback is its a little harder to get to things later and they flex a little more and rattle sometimes,Smitty

All 2009 Baja Models From Fountain will have Glassed/Plexus bonded Stringers. In addition the Top Deck and Hulls are glassed and Plexus bonded, through bolted, and screwed. Ultimately making a stronger boat. The liners on some boats had problems with too much flex, thus Fountain has done away with them.

The liner boats started around 2004.
On the liner boats, the entire interior portion of the hull,
from engine bay to cabin is one piece thats inserted into
the exterior hull.
The older stuff is "stick built" where a stringer grid is
glassed into the hull.
The engines are mounted right to the stringers,
the cabins interior is all based off the inside of the hull.

There are 3 seperate parts: The hull, the liner and the deck. The cockpit floor is part of the deck, not the liner. The cockpit floor will get bonded to the liner by plexus.
