In conjunction with the "Toys for Tots" run, Bill Pyburn Sr. is wanting to put together an event for the month of December. This may be the LAST run of the year for many boaters.
The fun run will take place on December 5th and 6th in Palatka, FL (approximately 70 miles south of Jacksonville).
ALthouth the actual "Toys for Tots" run is a charity event and there is no entry fee to deliver toys to the children, we are asking for boaters that want to participate in the event for a $150.00 entry fee. This includes the captain and co-captain, $50.00 for each additional person.
All entry fees will be used for entertainment, bands and food. We are shooting for at least 30 boats to sign up. Last year the "Toys for Tots" run donated 14K of toys for children. Lets step up to the plate this year. We all know the economy is tough, lets help out some families that can't afford toys for their children.
The schedule looks like this;
Friday - Depart for lunch around 1pm to 3 Banana's resturant.
- Friday evening gathering @ Gator Landing with a band and appetizers provided.
Saturday - Captains meeting @ 10am
- "Toys for Tots" run starts between 11-11:30 am
- We will run down the St. Johns river to Dunns creek leading into Cresant lake.
- After the run we will head to Whiteys Fish Camp for lunch.
- Saturday evening gathering at the hotel banquet room for beverages and entertainment.

Had a great time last year, will be back for this event. Everybody you need to do this run for the kids and the run through Dunns creek. Last year I tryed it at 55mph with a 42' Fountain and it took my breath away, can back at 35mph made for a better trip. If you like sharp turns this is the run you should try.

2008 Toys For Tots Tour
The 2008 Boating toys For Tots Tour will take place on December 6th. There will be a captains meeting at the Quality Inn Riverfront at 10:00 AM. The Tour will start at 11:30 AM at the Palatka Bridge then go South on the St Johns River turn into Dunns Creek then South on Crescent Lake to the Crescent City Dock . There the US Marines will be waiting to take your toys and gifts. The tour route is about 21 miles and tons of fun.
Last year about $14000 dollars of toys were collected , and your generosity was the magic to make some deserving child holidays great. Thank you. This year we would love to do even more. Get that sensational boat ready call your friends and load up with toys and come to the TFT tour. Please bring a new unwrapped toy with you to give, something nice.

We live near Whitey's and I ran some numbers and it should be about 141 miles Round trip from The Palatka start to Crescent City to Whiteys and then back to Palatka .....m

Also 91 octane is about 2.60 today ... 6 more weeks it could be @ 2.00 !!!!!!!
