Default what oil do you run ? 502 magnum efi (415 hp model)

.

sorry to start a annoying "what oil should i run thread"

but i recently bought a boat with 502 efi magnums 415 hp and the book that came with the boat said to run 40 weight oil and not to run MULTI VISCOSITY OIL

but 40 weight oil is hard to come by and the mercury dealer said i shouldnt run straight 40 weight and i should run multi viscosity oil

what are you guys running ?

is it cool to run 20- 50 ?

.

Mobil 1 15-50. I switched to it about 30 hrs after owning my 502mpi's. They had 250hrs on them and used a quart of conventional oil about every 8-10 hrs. After switching to Mobil 1 15-50, I now use a quart every 20 or so hours.

I buy from this site...hard to find grades and cheaper than in the auto parts store, delivered to my door.
