Default '07 Chevy 3500HD Duramax dually

Been loosely looking at trucks for a little while now. Found an '07 Chevy crew dually with Duramax/Allison combo. It's a little more truck than I wanted, but it's real clean and it's the right colors. Miles are right at 20K. What it does have is a 6" Fabtech lift and 22.5 wheels. It looks killer, but does anyone know how it will affect towing? It has the 3.73 rear.

It's an LTZ w/nav and read dvd, so sticker was probably just shy of $56K new. I'm guessing it probably sold about $10K under sticker, putting it at roughly $46K. Fabtech lift plus install is about $3K +/-, and the wheel and tire package is about $6500. So he's got $55-$56K invested before taxes.

Truck went into service in 6/07, and with only 20K miles it has a lot of warranty left. So, what would be a good number to try to get it for?

30K

You can buy a new 08 for 40K, this truck is used and when it comes to trading the lift kit/wheels are actually a deduct on the trade in rather than adding value.

Is it a new body style 07 or the classic?

If the classic, knock a couple more thousand off........

$30K seems a bit aggressive, I was thinking anywhere between $32-$35K would be fair.

Yes, you can buy a new one for $40K, but not an LTZ w/nav rear dvd, etc. This truck in an '08 would be just shy of $57K......$12-$13K off, sure but not $17K. I agree with you on the lift, but the wheels are something I would do anyway and that's pushing $7-large alone.

It is a new body style.

Thanks for your feedback.

overkill for your boat but sounds like a nice ride. I would like to lift our 07 F350 Dually but I'm not willing to come off the money for the wheels/tires!!!
$35K seems too high to me, I'd try 30K and be willing to go to about 32K-33K....Anyone looking to tow would rather have the 4.10's

Hey Russ, I am probably going to buy some 19.5s this winter for my dually. They don't require a lift or adapters; and nicely fill out the wheel wells with the right wheel/tire combo. Perhaps we can find someplace who will cut us a deal for 2 sets and commercial non-rush shipping to your facility. I might even have a channel already; if you are interested.

I personally think 30K is a bit high in the market but that could change quickly. There are some really good deals out there if you look for them! The guy I bought my truck from watched a very similiar truck to the one you are talking about...lifted,etc. go for around 22 at the auction here in Atlanta.

although you probably wont be affected much with your particular boat, but the lift and the over sized tires with the 3.73 are gunna kill this thing in comparison to stock form.

You can only get 3.73 gears with a Duramax/Allison setup. First gear is so low in the allison I sereously doubt you will have issues with towing your boat. Also it is the 6 speed allison so if the tires and wheels where going to effect it, it would be at highway speeds. The 6 speed has 2 overdrive gears. Being an 07' you will get the 100,000 mile/5yr powertrain warranty. (not that you will need it with that setup, but still nice to have. It covers hub bearings witch you will wear out with big wheels and tires.) As far as your in service date, give me the VIN and I can tell you everything you need to know.
