I have year 2000 VIP 2400 Vindicator.. 24.6 feet long. Sits in the water and similar length to a 25ft outlaw. The hull Flattens out towards the back a little quicker than an outlaw ie not as deep a V. I just replaced the 7.4 mpi with a 496 MAG HO. Boat use to run 53.7 on GPS with a Mirage plus 3 blade 21pitch at around 4775 RPM's . I am now running 64.5 on GPS with a Bravo 4 blade 24 pitch prop at 5050 RPM's . The 4 blade prop is used and has a several nicks in the blades. Anyone know what the Sweet Spot for RPM's is for the 496 MAG HO ? Any other advice on props? Think there is any more speed by having the prop remaned?

4600-5000 rpm's is the spec. I would prop it for 4900. Leaves a little to be gained on cool days with light load. I think you should try a labbed 26" Bravo 1 prop.

Standard Mercruiser 496HO is rev-limited at 5150 and your 5050 rpm at WOT is just about right on. If you lab that prop your added rpm would put you up past the rev-limiter and not add any speed that way. You can remove the knicks and clean up the prop but changing the pitch or diameter now is not going to see any real improvements.
Sounds like you should be happy with your +10 mph gain with the added horsepower and torque of the 496 stock.
