Default Revolution prop tweaks

Any of the prop shops modded the Rev props? It was my favorite prop I ran this year, but the 25P was a tad too light. A 26 would be perfect. Can they be reworked to a 26?

Yes we do work on the Revolution 4 series propellers. We have created a template to Lab the props. We can also add one inch of pitch and precise cupping as needed to reduce the rpm levels as much as 400 rpm.

The propeller was originally developed to run on slightly under powered 20 something stern drives. The smaller diameter high rake design allowed under performers to get on plane quick and hadle well with good trim and carry for a 4 blade propeller. We have since learned of its potential in many different applications from Bajas to Sonics to outboards and many other perform hulls.

When we developed the prop we made the determination to stop at the 25 pitch size because of the market we were looking to capture. Prior to my leaving Mercury Racing, I began to lobby for 27 pitch castings as the writing was on the wall. It fell on deaf ears because it was mainline product not Hi Perf and they weren't seeing the clientel I was seeing.

Anyway, now that I am no longer employed at Mercury, my pull has taken a backwards step. However, I still request the casting at times. My fear is, we will never see the 27 come to life.

If you wish to have us work the propeller, send it in with a note or call us anytime.

Brett

hey brett...
i thought the revo 4's were designed for outboards needing stern lift, with high horsepower, but less torque? kind of filling the gap between the mirage/laser and the bravos?
anyhow, they are the perfect application for my rumrunner, chosen for the dual small block application which doesn't have the bb torque...a great cruising prop!
here's a tech question...
i've got 1987 350 Mags (carb) one drive is '87 1.5 ratio, my c/r drive is 1.47...date unknown...what should be done to the props to make them "match" and increase midrange cruise and efficiency? i'm currently cruising at 45-50mph at 32-3400rpm...
just some math to occupy you during the off season...
thanks.

Nope, originally designed for the Alpha drive.

Math..............daily occurance around here! Are they 25 pitch?? R's are probably quite close. Add cup to both adjusting for the rpm deviation. Accurate adjustments are a must to match up the tachs.

(Where is the spell checker??)
