Default Might need to sell 357

Looking for some advice on pricing or what you feel is the best way to sell. I own an 86 357 with KAAMA drives. The entire driveline is currently removed from the boat and I might need to sell it. I would prefer to sell it without the drives/engines. I don't want to put the engines in because they need time and expense to finish which I don't have, also this would allow me to keep them for a future boat. I would like to sell without the drives/ transmissions for basically the same reasons, plus the fact that not many people want these drives. The kaama drive footprint is very small, roughly a six inch diameter circle with mounting holes around it. Hopefully this makes it easy for someone to put on different drives. The rest of the boat is in what I believe would be average to above average condition. Except for the engines and drives the boat should be ready to go. The boat is all original except for the stereo. The transom/stringers are rock solid and dry (professionally rebuilt). The boat does not have a swim platform nor is the transom drilled for one although a silent thunder might be available. Boat is in storage but I can get pics. I have owned boat for about ten years and it has been in storage that whole time. So what do you think it might be worth and how saleable is it? Thanks.

I will try to get pics in the next couple days. I need to get an idea of what it is worth. I have owned it for ten years and not used it once. I am finally coming to grips with the fact that I have lost interest in this project and should get rid of it.

This may be a longshot, but I have the full set of Kaama drives, transom assemblies, transmissions, bell housings, starters, flex plates, external steering and trim that I will sell for $6K. If you find someone that wants to keep it Kaama, but you don't want to let yours go, they can get mine. Mine came off of a 86 357. Just wanted to give you options. Good luck with the sale, that is an awesome boat with Kaamas.

I had an '88 357 that I sold last summer. The boat had 780 hours on original 454/420hp's with TRS drives. Cosmetically the boat was in excellent condition, as the interior had been freshened several years back. I sold the boat for $35k, but it was hell getting the deal done, as it is tough getting an old boat like that financed.

I'm not going to let it go for nothing as it's not some junk that was stripped and abandoned in a field, but I'm thinking without engines and drives it would be cheap enough that financing wouldn't be a huge issue. I already know what the minimum is that I will sell the boat for- I need to know what the upper end is for one of these without power.

The cabin looks to have had little use, all the cushions and headliner are in very nice shape. The carpet is a little stained but because of the dark color you can't really notice it. It will show up in a pic but is almost invisible to the eye. The stereo works. I have never run the fridge or the sink water. In the cockpit the black dash has some sun fading and all original gauges which worked when last used. The bolsters are in very nice shape. The rear seat is a little worn but still ok. The sunpad has noticable wear and would probably deteriorate quickly if subjected to regular use. The snap in carpet is in nice shape as is the bimini top. The transom and stringers were professionally rebuilt by a Formula recommended facility and has never been used since repair. I have never plugged in the shorepower. The interior is Black/Grey/Red. The hull sides look very nice and possibly have been touched up paint wise. The rub rail is dinged up. The deck was chalky and was polished out 2 years ago. I haven't looked at it since then to see how it held up. The exterior is mostly red with black and grey. It is on a Myco trailer.

I sold mine without a trailer, so based on what you are saying, I would think that you should be able to pull $20-25k out of it?

Thanks. I might be willing to keep the trailer if it wasn't wanted.

If you end up selling the boat without the trailer, let me know, as I might be interested in buyin it for my 353.
