I have an excellent set of labbed Merc 4 blade 36.5 pitch 16 3/4 props that I will sell.

Have you tried drive spacers?

If it's a handling issue lowering your X may help you run 5 blade props vs 4s. .The the closer your props are to the surface the more they hunt for the surface.

An equal size 5 blade will surely lift your stern at speed more than a 4 blade will...

If you call Bret @ bblades, he can send you #6 drive test spacers and should also be able to provide you with what ever size cleavers you need.

On a six drive you drop your lower, install supplied longer oil line and studs install new o ring slide your spacer and drive back on.
Two guys approx 1/2hr or so per drive.
Good Luck!
Glen

WW been talking with Brent I think your the guy he was talking about, we share the same boat, except we do not have the center pod that hustler put in there mold and I think your making more power.
Brent was curious to see my results with a 1" spacer

first run out 6600 on the rev limiters, 34P 16 3/4 spinning out 128.5mph

second run 6400 turnning 37p 17" 5 blades same rotation 135 mph handling was poor to say the least, lifted the stern planted the bow

Soinc,
That,s us their really isn't a whole lot of set up info out there on these hulls and the guys at Hustler will tell you 5 blades.

When we purchased this rig she had a tired pair of Eickart 850s ,1.24 ratio dry sumps,33p 17 1/2 4 blades turning out and a 3 1/4" X dimension.

First blast I new we had a problem she was a hand full at 110 to 115 similar to the feeling you get running an over powered 37 to 39' deep V running out of hull at a buck ten + or so.

Made a few calls turned "drives in" finally squeezed a 131gps in late fall with above combo solid ride.

With fresh 1000HP engines tried several 4 and 5 blades stuck with 4 blades as 5 blades got weird in the low 130s.We netted a best of 140gps at 6400 rpms.

Added methanol injection and boost boat still liked 4 blades better but would crab real bad in the mid 140s and depending on conditions a few times netting high 140s and I would have to pull out .
That was running our 36.5p 4 blade 17" props to 6400rpms or so A ton of prop slip!

With the addition of 1/2" spacers and Bret labbed 36 p 5 blades it was like running a different boat solid as a rock into the 150s in the low 6000 rpm range way better slip and still pulling..

Like you guy's we also ran out of season. WE plan on testing 1/4" spacers in the Spring .With the 1/2" spacers she handled like she was on rails but was also pushing so much water half the boat is still in the water.

Also our hull design with plug ins will not respond to any positive trim what so ever, slows her down.

If I'm correct your engines are forward and you are running drive shafts and may be balanced a little better than ours!

Feel free to get in touch I will share our exact set up changes with you guy's if needed.
Good Luck!

Glad you guys were able to hook up!

35 was the biggest 4 blade we ever made at Merc Racing. However, the actual pitch was 36. Of course we have added 1" pitch to these when needed.

Glen, we do need to discuss the spacers. We can do that right after the new year.

WW thanks for the reply !!
we have the same X, and yes this boat is a drive line model, carbon fiber/ kevlar lay up with a balast tank....acording to the dyno we should be 1100 hp to the shaft these are 1:36 drives.
I just swaped the drives and they now spin inward, the slip spinning out was very high 20-23% full fuel and 4 big guys on abord

My buddy owned this boat in 2003 he ran every day
136-137mph with the 34" 4b's @ 6000 rpm uped the boost 2 pounds on the 900 sc's good fuel and ran 141-142 with 35" 4b's on the limiters @6250 rpm

Agreed there is very little set up info out there ...
look foward to sharing our results.

I do know that our exact (less the canopy) hull as a plug in model with 35" 4b's with 900's is runin 143 acording to Ramond Roberts Of Double R in orilia ontario..
the jelly belly gone again boat dose in fact run 162mph with 1200hp/side ... our set up is way off to these other boats... at least your close!!
