What does one weigh? On the trailer. 18k? 16k? 14k?

The book says 12K with trips.

Holds 300 gallons of fuel as well. With the correct truck, it pulls just fine. We have a Kodiak.

so what is your typical gross -truck?

I have never actually weighed the complete set up. I also NEVER stop at any weigh stations when traveling. We have not been stopped, hasseled or even looked at by DOT.

That being said, my best guess is the truck (Kodiak) with fuel is around 12000 lbs, and the boat w/ fuel and coolers etc.is 13000 lbs translating to about 25000 lbs w/people etc.

Generaly when we are "traveling", I pull the boat with as low of fuel as possible and fill it up before we splash it. There is definaetly a difference in pulling "feel" when it is full of fuel. If I remember correctly it's 8lbs/gallon for gas, multiplied by 300 gallons, this adds a substantial amount of weight. (2400 LBS)

What is your reason for asking, what spacifically are you looking to answer?

Most people I have seen hauling the bigger boats just use a 3500 duelly to pull them. But I like my Kodiak!

Brian, I'm just wondering what it would weigh on the trailer. My F-250 will tow 15k & for whatever reason I keep looking at a 40. My mind is in dream mode.

Jason,your F-250 will do just fine.I had a 06 F-250 lifted alot like yours when I had my 38 special.I would think that it would be a little heavier than a 40.I did put air bags on the 250 witch made it ride and handle better.

I agree, basically any of the above trucks mentioned will "Do the job". The difference is how relaxed the traveling will be.

I can tell you flat out, the bigger the truck pulling the boat, the less work it is and the less you have to worry about wind,rain, road conditions etc.

If you are going to your local lake or a short trip, you can always make things work out. But, if you are going cross country on the Poker Run Circuit, you will definaetly at least want to step up to some type of duelly. It really does make a huge difference. JMHO

There is a nice 40 listed here that Matthue has at LOTO it is twins w 575s pretty clean and needs a trailer. Pull those and drop in your motors. Then put the 575s in the 29. That would be a sweet package for sombody.
