Exclamation help needed ASAP about to buy 1997 30 foot scarab...

im about to buy a 97 scarab for 22,500. im not really sure what to be looking for on this boat. it has Twin 350 MPI Mercriuser IO's with Alpha One outdrives. the engine has 150 hours on them. does anyone know what size props should be on this boat. i remember they were stainless 3 blade but not sure of the pitch. anyone know what the pitch should be and how i could tell? also any one know the compression should be on these engines?
if anyone has this boat what speed is it go at WOT? what is the WOT rpm? please try to get back to me ASAP i have to meet with the owner at 9AM.

also should the alpha one drives has a tie rod on them for steering cause as of now they dont. thanks

well as far as theengines go at 150 hours i wouldnt worry to much about them if the boat is clean that means that the engines are to and vise a versa i paid 24 thousand for my 23 scarab last year so the price doesent seem bad. as far as thesteering i would put a strut on it for shure. other than that without pictures thats all i got

The props should be 23 pitch 3 blades props and the boat should go about 66 to 68 mph on gps 70 on a good day if your lucky compression on the motors should be around 160 to 180 I think. WOT is 5000

1) Thats a great price for a 1997 30 ft Scarab IF its mechanically and structurally sound.

2) GET IT SURVEYED!! The biggest mistake anyone can make is to buy without having the engines, drives, electrical and structure checked (ie moisture readings in stringers, dry rot etc). You could buy the boat for $22k and spend another $20k fixing it if its got issues and then its not such a good deal. Spend the $400 and have it checked out!

Sounds Like this boat my be a 29'. Scarab did not make a 30' in 97. Also alphas and small blocks were never offered on the 31.
