What Prop for Stinger 222?

G'day all,
I'm chasing a prop for my Stinger 222 with ~500hp BBC and Standard Bravo 1.

I've been told I'll need a four blade Bravo 23p (RH) (I hope) but could go up to a 25p.
The engine's built for around 4000-6000rpm but will be comfortable down low (enough to dock I hope).

I'm hoping for better than 70mph eventually but I've been told the boat should do between 60 and 70mph with my combo as is. (If I can find the right prop!)

Does anyone have any other thoughts or better yet, does anyone have such a prop for sale?
(That they can ship to Australia??)

Cheers!

The drive is mounted rather deep on that boat, a three blade will probably be faster. Depending on what rpm you are making the power, I'd suggest running a 25 or 27 Mirage Plus 3 blade.

Ghostrider,
I have a slightly used, but in brand new condition, Hill Marine 5blade 23'pitch stainless prop sitting in my house that I have no use for; I used it for about 1 hour on my old boat, but the prop had too much bite so I wasn't able to obtain WOT. My old set up was a 454Mag MPI with a bravo I; it was tweeked pushing out about 450hp.
If you are pushing over 500hp, have a 22' to 29' boat, this may be the perfect set up for you. If you are interested, private message me; I'll give you a great deal--well below new retail.

Default prop

Ghostrider! go to the chris craft forum I got a 202 stinger with a injected small block running a bravo1 30 pitch 4 blade, with 1:82 to 1 alpha running right on a 5500 rev limiter, running 80.So I would think with a big block,1:50 to 1 drive you should be able to swing a 26 or 28 bravo.Only problem I have is I have no up trim prop blows out. MC, PM Sent, thanks!
Hey Fenderjack! I've read all about it, sounds great. I saw that vid of the Stinger chine walking over 60-70 and I'm trying to avoid that problem myself by limiting stern lift and having a full hyd steering set up.

Do you have any pics of yours you can email me?

A three blade prop reduces transom lift and will be faster than a 4 blade in most cases. Also because of your prop-shaft depth, a three blade would be best. I would start with a 25 pitch Mirage+

Thanks Chris.
I'll probably wind up buying a selection of props to run for various occasions knowing me!
I'll check around and see if I can find a suitable Mirage+ 25p - 3 blade.
I found one on ebay, part number 48-13248-25. Is that the right one? (Item number: 230321748361)
Or this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...id=p2759.l1259
Anyone have one out there for sale??
Cheers!

I have a mirage 25p. email me your adress and I will send you pics. I will sell for $200 plus shipping. I also have a 27p mirage with fixed hub that fits a standard bravo drive. It appears to be an older prop, but is in fine shape. I will sell it for $180.

Ghoastrider,

Find a local prop shop and ask to demo a few new or used props.

TX, I've sent you an email thanks!

I'd love to find a local Prop Shop, but they all look at me funny when I tell them I have a motor other than an outboard!

I'll keep looking around though, there has to be someone in this city who deals in actual performance sterndrives or parts!

Out of curiosity, do any egg beater (outboard) props fit Bravo 1s?
