Would love to hear everyone's thoughts - used pricing on parts is going over-board on this site

50% on everything would be nice but quite frankly its what the fair market value is. Especially on products you can't get a discount on. The retail prices are outrageous on a lot of items so expect the used prices to be high as well.

That said you'll always have your fools who think their garbage is made of gold....

I think 50 is a good number to start with - no 80% of the retail, that's a SALE on a new item - I understand you point - Lets use an example -

Whether or not a boat's value is the some of its parts or not; the next thing you can derive from such statement is ANY boat that is used is worth 50% of retail. Is that the case too?

If so I would sell for less than the lowest advertised price by say a couple hundred. That is still a deal as it is cheaper than anywhere else. If you really NEED to move then yes 50% will move it.

No way to set a % price on any item. It's all supply and demand. Try to buy some used ar-15 parts right now and see what they cost you.

Well Brian you should never buy a prop like that unless you know what size you need, any good prop shop will just swipe your credit card and let you take a few sets to try then you buy new props in the size you want, as for motor pricing unless they come with a warranty I would take it apart and look at any used motor before I put it in anyway so 15-1500 hours I'm still looking inside.

I do feel that a used part something that shows some use like if you put shifters in your boat run 100 hours then change them 1/2 of retail is what they are worth. other parts that ware faster are worth less bigger high dollar parts that don't ware as fast are worth more.
