Default Anyone else using Diesel Motors?

I bought a 34 ft boat with twin 7.3 330 HP engines I will be running surface drives with 21x26 props . Anyone else running this setup?

I have never seen that set-up before. What boat is that in? what year? What motors are they? Sorry, but I am diesel illiterate.

The motors are 7.3 turbos (same as ford powerstroke) 2000 34 ft deep vee

Default Diesels Rock!

I suspect you'll be real pleased with this set-up provided you dont have big block sound withdrawal.

Personally, I would shy away from any stock diesel outdrive combo because of the brute torque. Builders tend to put these in boats that the diesel will handle but the drive won't- at least reliably.

With surface drives or direct inboard you should be in great shape- those engines will be very reliable and you'll save on fuel considerably. What's the boat weight and what type of performance are you expecting?
