Default New Borg Warner Transmission 2500 lbs torque

Bill from Ateco Engines told me today when he was at the Miami boat show Borg Warner introduced a new Marine transmission. Aluminum case, 15 clutches (four more than anyone else) and rated for 2500 lbs of torque!!!! The trans is about 1" longer than the 72c style. This could actually be a transmission that will live on the big engines.

Now that would be nice. Can't wait to see one. That would all but eliminate crash boxes.

Have you talked to Tyson? BigYellowCat on OSO. They have a new tranny that sounds similar. I think Jim Lee has been running them in Freedom.

Bill was told around $7500 retail. The guys in the booth at the show knew very little about this transmission as it was so new.

I just checked the site. That trans is slick, and looks quite compact as well.
