I went out out and looked at my seat and I think Gordo is right. It looks like there are two 5/16 or 1/4 studs that attach to the frame off the seat /back cusion, they go through the top of the bulkhead, about 18" from center to each side. So you would have to use a real long extension, around 18 inches and go into the lower seat stowage area and up into the bulkhead. Use a deep 1/2" or 7/16" socket. Hope this helps, it looks like it would be a PTA.

my seat back jst lifts off without those nuts on it, and there are two screws that also act like studs and help hold it in place so it lifts out real easy, but stays put. probably not original!
