I've heard 292's with Scorpions hitting the 80mph mark. I think 75-80 is a fair estimate.
It wouldn't happen to be the 292 at Trenton would it? I'm 3 minutes for there, let me know if you want or need pictures or anything.

i looked at it back when i was looking for a 271 or 292, wasn't particularly thrilled about the color scheme, purple and green just aren't me. Boat looked clean, it's had at least two owners, the most recent had it for about a year, think he upgraded. Had a bit of dock or pier rash on the one back corner when it was traded in. Don't think the hours are the same on both motors, I think one has 61 while the other has 74 I believe. Mine hours are off too.

yeah, what's with hour meters....mine are off quite a bit (198/153), but the computers show them to be within .2-.3 of each other....the 198 is correct but they keep getting farther and farther apart.

Mine runs 76-77 all day- any day. It will hit 78-79 most days and bump 80 under the right conditions (low fuel- light chop- no wife). 1.65 gears 30"B1 labbed. I dont usually run it that hard but it is certainly made for it --and it is fun to surprise folks sometimes... Few boaters seem to respect the small block set up but when done right it can be a rockect.

with the new 400 HP scorpions speeds close to 80 MPH should be possible
