Once it is shot; it is shot.
It's not a hard job to replace it if you have a walking-foot machine. Cut the new vinyl a bit bigger than you need, sew it right over the top of the existing vinyl. When done, take a razor and cut the old stuff out.
Guaranteed to fit when done.

We bought ours special from one of those fabric places. We loked at what they sold, and then called the manufacturer of what they sold. I don;t remember the name. they told us what to order, then we went back to the fabric place and ordered it. It came about a week later.
Before we started sewing it, we taped it to the sunbrela to keep it from moving. We also used a real exoensive thread; I believe Teflon or something like that.
This was on our 42 Carver aft cabin. Many yards of plastic and feet of thread. Took my wife and I about a day of work to do it all. Saved a ton of money over buying all new Sunbrella!
