Default Transmission cooler line size?

Boat with 1450 hp and 1550 Bam transmissions rigged with AN -06 cooler lines from the transmission to the oil cooler on the bellhousing. Does that seem like a small line size or is that normal?

Seems small to me. I think I used -8 lines on mine.

I believe Marc @ BAM requests -10 lines. -6 would be way too restrictive.

Bam states -8 minimun. I have pretty much always used -8 and it has worked fine. -6 is too small. Also, do not use any check valves.

Thanks for the replies. It was bothering me so much this afternoon I changed the hose over to -10. I had the hose and all the fittings. No check valves or thermostats.

#6 is too small - we do require #8 minimum
