Default Gear Lube bottle/resevior

Hey Guys

My motor [454EFI] has a factory gear lube container that sits up on top of the Left hand side of the motor [towards the bow] it has 2 wires that come out of it that limit RPM if the oil level gets too low, the damn thing leaks around the "nut" on the bottom of the plastic resevior, I have epoxied up a few times, but, eventually starts to leak again, I am trying to decide if I should replace it with a new one, or maybe see if anyone makes a cool aftermarket tank I could use?, I dont mind buying a new OEM one, but, if its gonna start leaking in a summer or two, I might as well get something else. Thanks for any input, and hope everyone has a Great Easter!

He is talking about the bottom leaking. It happens all the time with them. The merc ones are relatively cheap compared to aftermarket ones. A lot of them do leak after a about 5 years. The wires are to set off the audible alarm if the lube goes low.

The ones that I have had leaked where the wires go through the nut and are sealed.

That should be ten years worth
