Fellow Off Shore boaters,
Any idea what a 1980 Scarab II with rebuild 454's sell for? I would say the boat is in fair/good shape. The interior looks good and the outside has been painted. For the age, the boat does look good.

If the boat can be bought for the right price, then fixing it up and using it for a couple of years would be worth it. If not, I'm going to up the year and amount of green I'm willing to pay and get a newer boat that doesn't require a lot of time or $$$ just to hit the water.

Price is always dictated by condition. The demand on a early 80's Scarab 2 is pretty low- and it takes a lot of $$$ and time to bring one current. If everything is all there, it has a good trailer and it runs good 10K-12K is a pretty good value. But- if there is anything wrong- make sure you take that into account because things get expensive really quick!!!

Here are a couple of boats in my area that I'm considing looking at.
I pulled the Blue Book on this boat. The Average is $11,300 with a trade in value of $9700

This boat was even less. I don't have the numbers in front of me.

What do you fellow off shore boaters think? I have seen a few on ebay sell for less then 10k. I can't image these 30 year boats are in high demand.
