Question Group buy or discount for Lifeline or SRP life vests?

Was considering the "standard" vest from Lifeline - but at $450, too rich for my blood. It looks like it provides a lot more floatation than the Poker Run jacket.

Is there an OSO discount for Lifeline or SRP vests?

Anyone have details about the bouyancy (sp?) of the Lifeline standard vest vs. the Poker Run vest?

There was a thread on this, not more than a couple of months ago. I believe that it was in general discussion and involved a volumn discount. Can't recall who it was through though...

Hey Kook,

I've been looking at the same jackets but WOW is that a steep $$$!!! Let me know if you come up with any descent alternatives. Did you pick up your boat yet??? I ended up going with a 2001 Dominator instead of the 1999 I sent you the picture of. Hope all is well!

Red face

The Poker Run vests are in my price range, but don't look to bouyant (sp?) - look kinda thin. Anyone know the difference in bouyancy between the "standard" vest and the Poker Run vest? Are either of these rated as a type 1 or type 2 vest?

Mark, I'm not sure about the Lifeline Poker Run vests but the Lifeline race jackets are NOT Coast Guard approved which is fine as long as you have enough CG approved jackets on board for the number of persons on board.

OK I give up. If the racing jackets have the bouyancy to turn an unconcious person face up (and they do) and if they are stronger by far than a standard jacket (which they are) and if they have leg straps and neck support (which they do) and they cost a LOT (which they certainly do) then why the hell are they not Coast Guard approved? Damn, I do not want to spend that kind of money and still have to clutter up my boat with "approved" vests that I never wear.
