Where to install an oil temp sensor?

Where to install an oil temp sensor?
Have a '99 454 MPI with the upside down mount oil filter and I would like to install a oil temp gauge, (have a hole to fill on the dash) and other than doing the oil pan thing, where can I install a sensor just to get some sort of oil temp and get the gauge's needle to move?
