Default considering a 97 htm sr24 purchase...good or bad?

Im looking at a 97 htm. It has twin 225 merc outboards on it. The boat is all white, triple axle trailer. Its clean, and I like outboards.

Is there anything to be aware of about a 97 sr? Are there very many outboard sr's made?

thanks,
Jeff

HTM didn't produce hardly any outboard boats, and for good reason. HTM's are a different caliber of hull, they really need the big power production of a big inch blown BBC, unlike that of twin outboards. You might want to be careful of the 97's, well 2000 and prior boats. They weren't laid up in house and I " heard " of some transom issues.

I have a 2001 SS-24, boat was laid up in house by Steve, boat ran a best of 122.4 on GPS with a Supercharged BBC. The HTM hulls were built/designed to handle massive power.. that is the way I suggest a person to buy/own one

Ive been told by HTM that this particular boat actually ran 96mph with twin 225's...not bad for 450hp.

I am a tad bit leery of the boat though. Im more of an outboard guy...and the SR24 is the boat I want. Kinda tough to be stuck in a situation like that when I know the outboard isnt really the way to go on an HTM...Its cheap though. Which also kinda scares me!!

Are there any other forums that have a bunch of HTM owners on it? Or any HTM forums?
