Sean, yes you can bolt on #2 lower to a trs upper. #2 parts are extremely hard to find most stuff is N.L.A. . I know of someone who has a bunch of #2 stuff around (used), I will find out if he wants to sell it, if you need it.... Tom. What are you looking at ?

Yes, you can bolt it right on, but they are about 1 1/2" longer than the stock TRS. They will take more power, prblay 600 or so but parts are very hard to find.

sean DanL had a pair of SSM2 drives don;t know if he still has them.
Billy frenz had an old race boat for sale with SSM2 drive. I know they woudl sell the boat without the drives, maybe the drives coudl be purchased.
ALso eth SSM2 drive will lower your x-dim 2"
I know someone here already tried the swicth from TRS to SSM2. I think it ra eth same speed. The 2s are lower but the TRS isn't as hydrodynamic. As i recal they claimed it about evened it out....
how is the new boat?

The only difference that I know of between a TRS and SSM II upper are 2 holes. They are in the back of the upper housing and I was told that they provide ventilation to the prop. Not sure it matters though.
Yes, it will bolt up but parts are very pricey. Better to go to an SSM IIIA or V. You'll have to recut the transom with either drive.
No problems up to 500hp.
