Default Now i'm baffeled!!!!

Took the boat out last weekend for the first time this year with the family. Boat was running really good (for once) all day, Seemed to be running pretty fat idiling but other than that acceptable. Anyhow, idiling back in I get to the dock, put boat in neutral while I wait to get into the ramp. I put it into reverse and it dies out never to fire again!!! It didnt die out likeit was loaded up, more like I turned the key off?? I have a full MSD system in the boat. all the wiring looks to be in order. Possible the MSD box took a s**t??Going to try and trouble shoot tomorrow. Anything you guys can think of might be the problem??

Sounds like MSD box to me ,,but just pull the plug and see if u get a spark.

if u do,,pull the rev limiter chip and see if that works other then that check the 12 volt to the box from the egn switch .

And then the major thing......................ask again. LOL
Good luck

Your gonna have to try and give us some more info. Does it crank, any spark, getting fuel, drive stuck? Get the picture? This is a great wealth of knowledgable people who will go out of their way to help. Just try and get some more info to work with. Thanks!

Everything seems to be normal. Has fuel pressure, cranks over, drive in neutral. It was like someone pulled the tether on the kill switch. Only thing I haven't checked is if i'm getting spark but by the way it turns over, it sounds like the engine isn't getting any spark. I will check that first when I get to the barn in the a.m.

Come on Scott, your my hero on here from day one! Hey would $12K be a good deal on a pair of 2007 Imco Extreme SC drives with -2 shorties? About 30 hours on them. Drives only no gimbles.

Sorry Blown, wasn't trying to hyjack your thread. By the way. Lots of problems with the MSD boxes. Is it the marine box or was an auto box used? The marine boxes are better insulated for water and shock. Keep us posted!

I was just going to say the same thing. Also check the main circut breaker in the engine compartment. Should be a resetable one somewhere. Make sure you didn't loose a wire on the ignition switch as well. If neither of those work, grab a test light, and start testing.
