Looking at a 29 outlaw, has a black plug in bottom between the motors. All I could figure is that its a depth finder, has a small round box on top with a wire coming out. Just not familiar with a thru hull design. Anyone use these and any problems to look for. THANKS JOHN B

I have an "IN" hull, that may be what you are referring to. There are THRU hull, but they seem to be less common.
You can figure that out by looking under the boat, you see anything? If not, it's an IN hull. Nothing to worry about. I think it is the best way to read depth. I much prefer it to transom mount transducers.

Thru then.
No biggie. As long as it was sealed up properly (like any below the water line through fitting) it should be fine.
Usually people use 5200 or similar. For the most part you had better MEAN it when you apply 5200, .........it's there to stay.
