Default Using Google Checkout To Purchase A Vehicle?

I'm looking at a truck, the owner has a Google Checkout account. It's my understanding you pay Google they hold the money and they pay the seller upon inspection and your OK. You have 7 days to inspect the vehicle and back out of the transaction. Does this sound right? Anyone have any experience with this? If so is this how it works and is it a safe way to purchase a vehicle?

Thanks

I would check it with Google first. I almost got scammed by a seller that told me he would only go through Yahoo Autos. Same type of set up. It sounded safe to me. I found out he wasn't even the real seller. He had stolen the information from a real ad and changed the contact info to himself. I happen to find the real owner and she even told me something funny was happening with her ad. They try to get you to send a deposit and you never hear from them again. I spoke with reps from the Autotrader and Yahoo and they told me they are runnings into these problems. Most of the time the person you speak with isn't even in this country and the call goes through a switching station and they have you wire transfer deposit money. This sounds identical! Be careful!
