Thumbs up What prop would be good?

Hey guys Im new to the boating world and have been reading about changing your prop for better hole shot, better top speed, a mix of both etc. I researched the current prop on my boat and wanted to know what the best prop I should have for the results I am looking for? It may be what is already on there?

Ok the boat is a 1985 Chris Craft Scorpion 210 with a 5.7l mercruiser V-8. Right now I have a Mirage Plus 3 blade, I'm not sure of the pitch on it though.

I am looking to do a little tubing and knee boarding but mostly just crusing around in the bay. I have had it out a couple of times since I got it last month and it seems like it takes a little bit to get on plane with 4 people on board. Any ideas would be appreciated, I have found general info on what is good and what props do what but nothing boat specific. Just looking for some more insight!!! Thanks guys!

For what your wanting to do you need to first find out what pitch prop you have now and have it repitched down buy one. That will give you a little better hole shot for about 150.00.

How would I find out with pitch it has? Will it say on it? I haven't gone to look at it closely...

Should say on the side of the prop or inside the hub. Most likely it a 19 or 21p

I went by and checked the prop today and I do have a 19p. What would be the best upgrade to go from there? Thanks for any input!

I had a 21 Chap that came with a 19p. I changed it to a 21p 3 blade. I tubed and skied behind it all the time with know problems. I could even pull up two guys on slalom ski. It had a 5.7 260 hp.

Sounds like you may have the correct prop. What is the RPM at WOT trimmed out for max speed?
