Default 454lx Mpi-502mpi

Might be switching from a 97 454 LX/MPI (330php-350 crankhp) to a 95 502 MPI,,,, Is this a direct swap, or will I need other parts?

Supposed to be a complete take out,,,, not sure on the flywheel and little things, I am pretty sure they are both gen 5 motors, thats why I was hoping it would be pretty cut and dry,,, but I know my luck !!!

Obnoxus,

It's going to be a fun summer watching you and Paul. The only bad thing is I’ll be watching from behind you guys this year.

UPDATE.....

Ok I bought the motor,,,,, The good news is he gave me a COMPLETE motor,,, all the way to the bellhousing so that is solved!!!!

My question now is fuel..... My exsisting motor is a cool fuel setup,,,, the 502 has a vapor seperator can I just drop it in, and all will be fine? Should/can I switch the 502 over to the cool fuel.

One last question,,, looking at the book the 95 ( mine ) 502 has a plug gap 0f .035,,,, 96 and newer has .040,,,,, why ?

the older one has an ignition coil/system Tbolt IV or V which produces not as much spark voltage/energy and so slightly smaller spark gap spec as the newer EFI

Dennis,
Sounds like a good deal.
Now your Baja has been injected with a little Cig. Juice.

Should really wake it up.
Now you can get some real big air at this years poker run.
