Default GPS Speedometer Question

Last season my Livorsi speedometer didn't work. The speedo in the rear does not work either. I'm thinking it is probably not receiving signal from the antenna since both units are not working. When the boat is powered up it cycles but then no speed while under way. Has anyone else experienced this? I was told to pay attention to the positions it stops in as it cycles on power, and that this can help diagnose the problem. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks for the help.

Battery? I always assumed everything is wired in. What type of battery? Is the puck the base of the antenna under the deck?

If you look around on here you will find a million threads about that battery going dead but I must admit I didn't see any of them until mine went dead last year. Yes it is that round white antenna puck under the deck. You can try to fix it yourself but it's easier to just send it in to Livorsi with around 80 bucks and your back in action.

When I called them a couple of months ago,
they said they weren't doing them any more.

The option was to replace it with a new one of the same style
for somewhere in the low $ 200 range, or replace it with
a new style one that doesnt use an internal battery for
something like $ 315.

Take it to a local battery plus store.
That is what others have said, stupid design.
