I would just use some buffing compound and elbow grease. Some of those chemicals can really destroy paint, gel, or even the fiberglass. If you really feel the need to use a house hold cleaner, try acetic acid (vinegar). You could also use some Soft Scrub. That stuff works well.

one time as I drove up to get fuel at a dock they had a gas spill.. it made a yellow glue slime on the hull. Industrial acetone worked perfectly. It also stripped off all wax but worked perfectly. Key word industrial strength

Agreed...I used it many times on my PowerPlay and Nordic, no issues, works great. Don't think I'd be too crazy to get it on my paint tho. I just used a disposable brush to apply it, hose it off a few minutes later.
