I just wanted to know if my dodge ram 1500 5.7 liter hemi was capable of towing a 33 outlaw or a 36 outlaw? right now I have a 272 baja and it tows it awesome but I was curious as I wanted to upgrade to a boat that size in a year or so. Is the truck capable?

Not stock it won't. You'll need to make some modifications to your rear suspension(air bags, helper springs etc), brakes and motor. I'm guessing the truck is paid for so you don't want another payment in addition to the boat, but if it was me I would trade for a pre-owned Dodge 5.9 diesel. Even a 2500 would tow a 36' boat easily.

It'll probably tow it.......stopping however is going to be a problem!!! If your just looking to get it to/from a marina/lift for the summer then it's OK, regular towing for anything over a couple miles and your going to arrive at the ramp a sweaty mess after hauling that load.

Yeap exactly the truck is paid for so I was exploring my options as I didn't want another payment. Those ford f250s harley davidson edition are very nice all around. I found one an 04 powerstroke diesel for about 22,999 not a bad deal in my opinion although i've heard horror stories about those trucks lol

You do NOT want the 6.0 PSD. Stay with Dodge and get the Cummins.

go chevy and pickup a late model duramax. I have had 4 so far... from 03-10. I turn them quick as I am dumb but I have had zero problems with them. My 10 is a crew 2500hd 4x4 that I tow the sonic with as well as plow with during the winter. I get 17mpg towing and unloaded, around 23mpg @ 74mph. Love it!

No, it is not. Stupid is the word if you attempt to tow a 33 Outlaw with a 1/2 ton truck. Save yourself the hassle or stay far away from me or my family if you do challenge the forthcoming with that combination.

I have an 05 Harley davidson with 130k that I tow amy 31ss all over the country with... Never had a single problem with it... The new fords are all about maintenance and absolutely don't chip it. My diesel runs and works great 100% of the time.

That is incredible mileage, don't ever sell that truck, you got a winner! I have the same thing in a 06 and only get 17-18 empty at 75mph. I thought the new diesels with the paticulate filter and more stringent emissions were down on mileage? Steve

He's quoting his overhead mpg meter which shows at LEAST 3mpg more than he's really getting.
