Default 2002 Ford f250 vibration

I have a 2002 f250 4wd with a 7.3. I have developed a vibration that feels like it is coming from the front. It is not continous, it will start anywhere from 20mph to 60mph, but once it does start it will not quite until the truck stops completely. It happens whether OD is on or off, also once it starts you can shift to neutral and the vibration does not change. The vibration does not change under load or coasting either. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Out of balance tire? Bad Shock? Could it be something as simple as this?

Check and make sure you dont have mud stuck on the inside of the wheel. You may also check your drive line to see if it is loose.

Check the Hubs. If you have a smoked one it wil cause that. Also did you ever turn the wheel with out the engine running fords are know to fill with air and cause a wheel bounce. Also make sure the front end is tight that will give you a hellofa shake now and again

Check each of the front brakes. I had a similar problem with my 2WD F250. Turned out to be RF caliper sticking, heating the rotor up, and causing a vibration. It was a strange failure because both the caliper pins had rusted stuck and the piston was stuck. I'm sure one caused the other. Randy

The front hub bearings are junk and can't handle the weight of the 7.3's and the V-10's. I have an 01 Dually F350 since 03 and have had to change the hubs 4 times so far. There's a kit out there for about $3K but that's alot of cash so I choose to just keep on replacing the hubs AND TIRES when they go south. The rest of the front suspension is also on the weak side due to the weight. Ball joints, rod ends etc. Ford won't recall any wear item apparently. Other than that I love the truck or I woulda dumped it long ago.

Bustedbrick how long did it take to start the vibration? Mine will do it right out of the driveway.

or ford-trucks.com, I seem to recall a thread there and it was a driveshaft issue. Do a search over there, tons of info

Drive shaft out of balance? I actually had to have mine rebalanced on my Excursion 7.3.
