Mine would take a few miles of driving to get going. I think it needed enough heat to expand the rotor and create the interference to the pads.

Does the steering wheel wobble or stay steady? Does it change at all when you brake?

Upper and lower ball joints appear ok, no slop in steering linkage and no play and smooth rotation in wheel hubs.
Did you test ride and try putting it in 4wd?

It could be something normal as posted. But the tu=ruck has had complaints from many people for years. Ford says there is no problem. It's not an uncommon complaint.

Sounds like it might be the needle bearings from what I have read, once it starts vibrating I can turn the knob to four wheel drive and the vibration quits. How hard is this job, any special tools required?

Anyone replace their hubs with GMB hubs? How did they do or last? They have the best warranty I can find (lifetime) but they aren't the most expensive.

2nd the driveshaft. Jus came unbalenced. I also had a u-joint that was junk. Easiest way to tell... Jack up read & put her in drive. If it vibrates u know it's in the reAr. Look at shaft see if she's bouncing. If so check joints cuz u gott pull it off anyways to get it balenced. Should cost about 75 bucks. Good luck.

Btw. Mines an F350, crew, lifTed 8" with 37's. Diesel & haven't had probs with hubs...... Yet???

It ended up being the needle bearings, but ended up replacing the whole hub on the passenger side it was all rust. Allso replaced the ford lockouts with some warn ones.

Replaced the whole hub assembly with a gmb hub assembly. It has a lifetime warranty. After driving for 20 minutes the hub is almost to hot to touch. Brakes are fine. They are telling me it is something else. The hub seemed real tight and was really hard to spin even after being installed with the tire on. Any ideas on if it could be anything else?

Hub units are all junk, no matter who you get them from. I've replaced mine 4 times so far and they need replacing again now. I've bought them from the dealer and from aftermarket companies, no difference. Not sure what the warrantee would be from the dealer if I had them install them but I'm sure the labor cost would make it not worth it and most likely a prorated deal. For $3K there's a kit with bigger spindles and normal greasable bearings but again, cost prohibative. I've learned to live with it. Norm is about 25K out of them. Ford says there's no problem?
